  24. Whatever my settings,  my 288 loses connection about 90% of the time
  25. after receiving a "RE". At least once or twice a day the modem simply
  26. drops carrier (usually in the middle of a  download. My old 14.4 PPI
  27. never had a problem like this using the same line. VERY ANNOYING
  28. problem. ANY recommendations?
